Runaway Nationwide League Division One leaders Portsmouth had to settle for a 0-0 draw at promotion hopefuls Reading today.
Reading had won their last six league games but could not find a way through the well-organised visiting defence. The result raised Portsmouth to 52 points, but the really good news for Harry Redknapp's men were the disappointing results achieved later in the day by their title rivals.
Second-placed Leicester City were also held to a 0-0 draw by Sheffield United to move on to 45 points, while Nottingham Forest and Norwich City both stay on 39 after suffering 1-0 defeats.
Forest were beaten by Lee Briscoe's first-half strike for Burnley, while Norwich lost to Wolverhampton Wanderers - Chelsea's on-loan youngster Carlton Cole getting the winner.
