Under-fire Leeds chairman Peter Ridsdale has quit his post on the English FA's main executive board to concentrate on his job at Elland Road.
Ridsdale made the announcement at the club's AGM, where he is expected to face some tough questions over the current fortunes of the club. Leeds are just four points off the relegation zone and both Ridsdale and manager Terry Venables have come in for criticism from sections of the Elland Road faithful.
Ridsdale was expected to be re-elected as chairman during the AGM, recieving a 96.7% share of the vote, but the state of the club's finances remain a major bone of contention. The Leeds chairman has previously told Venables that he will have to sell players when the January transfer window, if he wants to bring new faces to Leeds.
In a statement, Ridsdale said: "I will personally be spending more of my time in the daily management of the company. As a consequence of this I have today tendered my resignation from the board of the Football Association as well as from the FA Cup and International Committees of the FA and the FA Council."
