King denies stamping on Ljunberg

Tottenham defender Ledley King has denied claims that he intentionally stamped on Arsenal's Freddie Ljungberg during the recent North London derby.

The FA are currently investigating King after television cameras caught the incident that left Ljunberg with stud marks on his leg. But King, who has an impeccable disciplinary record insists that what happened was nothing more that an accident.

"I did tread on him but it was not deliberate in any way. It was a complete accident and I could do nothing else because of my momentum. I could not get out of the way and if you look at my disciplinary record you will see I am not a dirty player. I would never stamp on anyone," King insisted.
