Spurs stroll to victory over Leeds

Robbie Keane tormented his old team-mates as Tottenham strolled to an easy 2-0 victory over Leeds at White Hart Lane. The problems mount for Terry Venables, whose side never really looked like coming back after Spurs went two goals up by the interval.

Teddy Sheringham scored the first after just 12 minutes, latching onto a stay ball at the edge of the box and curling a delicate shot past Robinson in the Leeds goal. It could and should have been more for Tottenham as they completely dominated proceedings, but they had to wait until just before the break for their second goal.

This time it was Robbie Keane who produced the goods, curling home a Gus Poyet pass with the outside of his boot from the edge of the penalty area. The second half was a more even affair, but a demoralised and depleted Leeds team never really looked like troubling the scoreboard.
