Bowyer will decide future soon

Midfielder Lee Bowyer revealed he is close to making a decision on his future at Leeds United. The England international is out of contract at the end of the season and has rejected the club's offer of a new lucrative long-term deal, believed to be in the region of £40,000-a-week.

The 25-year-old could leave Elland Road for nothing on a Bosman free transfer in the summer and although he had a £9million move to Liverpool breakdown in July, Bowyer admits he could yet commit himself to Leeds.

Speaking in today's Daily Mirror, he said: "Only a handful of people know all the ins and outs of why I haven't signed so far, but that does not mean I'm not going to sign. I like it here and I'm planning to have a meeting and decide over the next few months."
