FAI confident Tolka will be playable

The FAI say they are confident that Tolka Park will be playable in time for Sunday's Carlsberg FAI Senior Cup Final after the pitch was badly cut up during yesterday's Premier Division clash between Shamrock Rovers and Bohemians.

FAI General Secretary Brendan Menton has told Shelbourne Chief Executive Ollie Byrne that the association will pay the costs of the repair work. But with more rain forecast, it could be touch and go if the pitch can accommodate the heavy machinery necessary to undertake this work.

The Cup final, which sees Derry City take on Shamrock Rovers, is scheduled to kick off at 3pm.
