Dundalk bid to increase shareholders

Eircom League First Division club Dundalk FC begin an initiative to increase the shareholding of their Co-Operative when they hold a meeting on the issue at Oriel Park tomorrow evening at 8pm.

Outlining the objective of the meeting, the Co-Op’s chairman, Des Denning, said: “We are conscious of the need to increase Co-Op membership to a level relative to the magnificent support the club received on (FAI) Cup Final day, when 5,000 people travelled to Tolka Park…..and another estimated 7,500 turned out to welcome the team home that night. This would see Dundalk’s speedy return to the Premier Division and provide the platform to build a new Oriel Park to the standard expected by supporters.”

Dundalk native and ex-Republic of Ireland captain, Steve Staunton, has added his voice to this initiative: “I would appeal to the people of Dundalk to support the Dundalk FC Co-Operative by becoming a shareholder. As a member you are helping to safeguard the future of your club and strengthen its resources”.
