October date set for Keane hearing

The English FA have announced that Roy Keane's disciplinary hearing will take place on October 15.

Keane faces two charges of 'bringing the game into disrepute' following the release of his controversial biography in which he alluded to the fact that he intentionally fouled Alf Inge Haaland in an act of revenge, back in April 2001.

The first charge relates to the element of revenge in the tackle on Haaland, while the second is in response to Keane profiting financially from his account of the incident.

Should Keane be found to be guilty, the Manchester United skipper could be facing anything up to an eight week ban and a huge fine.
