Richard Dunne could be facing a premature end to his career at Manchester City after being banned from City's training complex and fined two weeks' wages for turning up at training on Saturday in a dishevelled state. The 22-year-old Irish international had previously been disciplined for late-night drinking sessions and was told by boss Kevin Keegan to move from his Liverpool home after he decided to remain on Merseyside following his move from Everton to City.
Now, Keegan and his chairman David Bernstein will discuss Dunne's fate later this week and outright dismissal is one course of action they could take. However, after the problems Leicester suffered when they decided to terminate the contract of midfielder Dennis Wise, City may decide a safer option would be to put the centre-half up for sale pending the re-opening of the transfer window in December.
"I am very, very disappointed in him and I have told him so," Keegan told the Manchester Evening News. "He will not be at the club for two weeks. There is a meeting this week and we will see what we can do with him. I am not saying whether he will ever play for my team again until after that meeting."
