Scotland manager Berti Vogts has been given a dreaded vote of confidence by his employers. The German got the vote from Scottish FA chief executive David Taylor after yesterday's embarrassing 2-2 draw with minnows the Faroe Islands in a Euro 2004 Group 5 qualifier.
"It's not Berti's style to walk away, just the reverse in fact. There's definitely a bit of the Scottish character in him. When things go wrong he doubles his efforts. He's determined to do well," said Taylor.
"Berti is definitely the right appointment along with Rainer Bonhof to reshape Scottish football. He is here for the long term, Berti is also here to improve our whole system," insisted the Scottish FA chief.
Vogts took over as Scotland boss from Craig Brown last February but has so far failed to win a game.
