Inter Milan have pulled out of negotiations with Real Madrid for the transfer of Brazilian star forward Ronaldo after their refusal of Real's final offer.
According to an Italian press agency, Real tabled a bid of €37 million plus their Spanish international Pedro Munitis. However Inter, who after weeks of hot and cold negotiations with the player's agent and representatives of Real Madrid seemed finally on the point of selling their star forward, have refused Real's offer of cash plus a player.
With Saturday's European transfer deadline looming, there is little opportunity for the clubs to resume and conclude talks. Only hours earlier Ronaldo himself had stated he felt the negotiations were 99% certain to go his way. The Brazilian has been angling to leave Inter since he returned from a victorious World Cup campaign.
Earlier today Real relaunched their bid, after talks broke down last week, for Ronaldo by offering Inter €40 million plus Argentine midfielder Santiago Solari. Solari, a 26-year-old midfielder with a good goalscoring record, is known to interest Inter's Argentine coach Hector Cuper.
