Inter rubbish Ronaldo rumours

Ronaldo's future at the San Siro remains unclear, with Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti today rubbishing claims by the Brazil star's agent that he is on the verge of joining Real Madrid. Feverish speculation has surrounded Ronaldo's future since he stated he wanted to leave Inter Milan a month ago. According to reports in the Spanish press, Real have made an offer to the tune of 50 million euros for the player and yesterday Ronaldo's agent, Alexandre Martin, insisted the deal would be concluded one way or another

However, a bullish Moratti was quoted in Italian newspapers today as saying: "Do you want to know how this whole affair is going to finish? Ronaldo will play for us for another year whether he likes it or not, and then he can go - whether or not we win the league or the Italian Cup."

And Moratti also claimed that Inter would not miss the injury-plagued star if and when he does leave: "We're used to him not being there, so his departure will not be a major drama. But since he's staying, I'm sure he will play well for us, even though I know he's not too enthusiastic about it."

"Ronaldo has disappointed me, that's for sure. But what bothers me most is his sidekick who's been ridiculous about this whole affair," said Moratti referring to Ronaldo's agent Martin – rumoured to be at the root of the player's transfer request following his excellent World Cup display.
