Record signing Clinton Morrison is facing an uphill battle to be fit for Birmingham's daunting clash with champions Arsenal at Highbury on Sunday. The Republic of Ireland striker, a £4million plus capture from Crystal Palace, has failed to shake off a groin problem suffered in a pre-season clash with Stoke and manager Steve Bruce is unlikely to risk him.
Three of Bruce's other summer arrivals – fellow Irish star Kenny Cunningham, Aliou Cisse and latest addition Jovan Kirovski - are also included in the squad but Robbie Savage will be absent through suspension as a result of collecting 15 bookings with Leicester last season before his summer move to St Andrews.
