Roy Carroll has been released from the Northern Ireland squad to face Cyprus on Wednesday by manager Sammy McIlroy following a request by Manchester United.
Carroll is the senior goalkeeper at Old Trafford at the moment following a pre-season injury to Fabien Barthez's. The uncapped Michael Ingham of Sunderland has been drafted in to replace him in the squad for next Wednesday's game.
