Longford Town moved up to third in the eircom Premier Division with this evening's 2-1 victory over Drogheda United at Flancare Park. Eric Levine opened the scoring for the home side after 25 minutes, but Andy Myler restored parity eight minutes from time. However, midfielder Seamus Crowe struck two minutes into injury time to give Town all three points to take them to within four points of early leaders Bohemians.
Meanwhile, Finn Harps and Kildare County will contest the inaugural First Division Cup following respective victories over Galway United and Waterford United. Harps enjoyed a 3-0 win over The Tribesmen to move above Sligo Rovers on goal difference to secure their place in the decider thanks to goals from Kevin McHugh, a Billy Clery own goal and Shane Bradley. Alan Kelly scored the only goal of the game on 70 minutes to put the Newbridge based club into their first final in their debut season.
