St Patrick's Athletic are through to the third round of the Carlsberg FAI Cup following their 1-0 second round replay victory over Galway United at Terryland Park this evening. The teams drew 2-2 at Richmond Park last weekend, and a stalemate looked on the cards again when 116 minutes of football failed to separate the sides. However, with just four minutes of extra-time remaining and penalties looming, Darragh Maguire stepped up with a crucial strike to ease Pat's through.
