Birmingham City's interest in Republic of Ireland striker Clinton Morrison seems to have ended following the arrival of Polish international striker Emmanuel Olisadebe in England for talks about a £3.3million move to St Andrew's.
The Barclaycard Premiership new boys will open negotiations with the Panathinaikos marksman today on a four-year contract. If manager Steve Bruce can persuade the 23-year-old to join Birmingham it will be his fourth international signing of the summer after the earlier arrivals of Robbie Savage, Aliou Cisse and Irish defender Kenny Cunningham.
Blues boss Steve Bruce revealed: "I am very pleased that the board have backed me in the decisions I have made in the transfer market. The club has waited 16 years to get into the Premiership and what we have to do now is stay there."As for his talks with Olisadebe, Bruce added: "We will see how things progress from here."
