Liverpool and Leeds agree fee for Bowyer

Lee Bowyer's transfer to Liverpool moved a step closer today with the news that the two clubs have agreed a fee for the midfielder. Bowyer, who refused to sign a new contract at Elland Road, will discuss personal terms with Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier after the weekend ahead of his expected switch to Merseyside.

Club spokesman Ian Cotton told Liverpool's official website: "We have agreed a fee with Leeds for Lee Bowyer. They have given us permission to talk with the player and that will happen in the early part of next week."
