Eircom Premier League round-up

There were two games in the Eircom Premier League this evening with Shelbourne taking on Drogheda United and Derry City entertaining Shamrock Rovers. Shelbourne drew 3-3 at Tolka Park in a highly entertaining game. Shels took the lead after only 6 minutes through a Gareth Cronin own-goal. Drogheda hit back through Derek Delaney on 36 minutes only to see Shelbourne take the lead once again a minute later through Stuart Byrne.

Delaney levelled matters again just before half time but Shels hit back in the 53rd minute with a Trevor Molloy goal. That wasn't it though as Drogheda got the equaliser through Stuart Taylor on 69 minutes.

Elsewhere Shamrock Rovers recorded a 2-1 victory over Derry City at the Brandywell, Marc Kenny got the opener on 17 minutes while Shane Robinson added a second on 53 minutes. Sean Hargan gave the home side hope with a late strike but there was no time for the equaliser.
