The Republic of Ireland U-20 side were in action against Italy in the Toulon tournament tonight and were unlucky to go down 2-0 to two early second-half goals. Having lost the opening game to Japan, Don Givens' side were seeking a badly needed victory but it was not to be as Italy went ahead with a great header from a corner early in the second half. One minute later they were two down when the Italians punished a defensive mistake to give the Italians a flattering 2-0 win. Ireland now play Germany and South Africa in their final two games.
