Arsenal chairman Dein hails Wenger

Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein has labelled manager Arsene Wenger 'a miracle worker' after the London club completed the double. Arsenal added the English Premiership title to the FA Cup they won at the weekend when they beat defending champions Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford last night.

It is the third time Arsenal have won the double following successes in 1971 and 1998 and Dein has heaped praise on Frenchman Wenger. Speaking on the Arsenal website, Dein admitted: "What a nerve-wracking night, but what a fantastic victory and what a way to do it. And it speaks volumes for Arsene Wenger, his coaching staff, the medical staff and the team. Arsene has blended such talent together and the character in the side speaks for itself. I don't know where to begin when talking about Arsene's qualities."

He added: "I call him a miracle worker because he makes an average player into a good player, a good player into a very good player and a very good player into a world class player. It has been a great day for Arsenal Football Club."
