Veron doubtful for Old Trafford clash

A troublesome Achilles tendon could keep Juan Sebastian Veron out of tomorrow night's FA Barclaycard Premiership showdown between Manchester United and Arsenal at Old Trafford. The £28million midfielder has again been at the centre of speculation surrounding his future at Old Trafford, but if he misses the crucial league game it will be down to injury and nothing else.

Sir Alex Ferguson has denied claims Veron is unsettled but the Argentinian may be forced to sit on the sidelines as United face an Arsenal side which needs only a draw to clinch the championship and the Double. The Achilles problem has kept Veron out of five of United's last six Premiership games and he has not completed a league match since March 3, when he scored during the 2-2 draw against Derby County at Pride Park.
