FIFA president Sepp Blatter has confirmed the 2010 World Cup will be staged in Africa but he also distanced himself from his controversial idea of holding the tournament every two years.
"I can say that the 2010 World Cup will definitely be held on the African continent, although I obviously cannot say in which country," Blatter promised. "The World Cup is an attractive product, and we are happy to have it only every four years."
