Three players were sent off in the last minute as Celtic were held to a 1-1 draw by Old Firm rivals Rangers at Parkhead this afternoon. Celtic had Johan Mjallby and John Hartson red-carded while Rangers' Fernando Ricksen was also ordered off after a last-minute goalmouth melee.
Celtic, aiming to make history by winning every home game for the first time in their 114-year history, fell behind after only two minutes to a Peter Lovenkrands goal. The champions responded shortly before the break when Alan Thompson side-footed past Stefan Klos from close range.
The second half saw Celtic push on in search of a winner but Lubomir Moravcik and Hartson both missed good chances. With the game edging towards full time a Hartson header came back off the crossbar and signalled a goalmouth scramble. Klos eventually gathered the ball but a heated confrontation ensued after which the referee went on his red card spree.
