Coventry City today sacked manager Roland Nilsson and his assistant Jim Smith ending their contracts with immediate effect. Chairman Mike McGinnity and chief executive Graham Hover made the decision following a meeting with the pair, claiming the club's performances this season have been totally unacceptable.
McGinnity said, “We understand the fans' frustration completely in addition to the need for immediate change. The board has therefore decided to terminate the contracts of Roland Nilsson and Jim Smith with immediate effect.”
