Petit happy to stay with Chelsea

French World Cup winner Emmanuel Petit has pledged his long-term future to Chelsea as he looked ahead to a mouth-watering FA Cup final against his former club Arsenal. The Stamford Bridge club booked their final spot in Cardiff with a 1-0 win over Fulham at Villa Park and also secured European qualification next season for both themselves, Leeds and Newcastle.

The France international was relieved to have consigned memories of Chelsea's Worthington Cup semi-final defeat by Tottenham earlier this season to the past. "I think it's going to be a big game for both clubs and for me as well. I'm also very happy to be in a final after we missed a final in the Worthington Cup. I'm really pleased for the fans".

Petit took soon time to settle at Chelsea after his summer move from Spanish giants Barcelona, with some reports having recently quoted him expressing doubts about his future at the club. "I have never said that I wasn't happy at Chelsea. The first six months here were difficult for me but since I've recovered from my injury, I've been very happy and everyone can see that out on the pitch", insisted Petit.
