Roy Keane has been diagnosed as having a torn hamstring and will be out for four to six weeks. Sir Alex Ferguson had feared as much when Keane was carried off injured during Manchester United's Champions League win over Deportivo La Coruna on Tuesday. The hamstring tear could rule Keane out for the rest of the season.
He will miss both legs of the Champions League semi-final, which could be against Liverpool, and he may even be doubtful for the final itself on May 15 should United make it. Republic of Ireland boss Mick McCarthy could also be sweating over Keane's fitness for the World Cup if the midfielder is out for the full six weeks.
