All-Milan final highly unlikely

It was a bad night for Italian soccer as AC Milan were thrashed 4-0 by Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan were beaten 1-0 at home by Feyenoord in the first leg of the UEFA Cup semi finals.

Borussia Dortmund completely outplayed AC Milan tonight to take a 4-0 lead into the return leg in Milan next thursday. Dortmund got the dream start when Marcio Amoroso slotted home a penalty in the eighth-minute. Then after 34 minutes Amuroso bagged his second before completing his hat trick with a flying back post header before half time.

Milan had no answers in the second half and the tie was all but wrapped up when Jorg Heinrich hit a fourth for Dortmund on 62 minutes to leave the Italians with little hope next week.

There was also little joy for their bitter rivals Inter as they went down 1-0 to Feyenoord in front of 40,000 home fans. The breakthrough came in the second half when Inter defender, Ivan Ramiro Cordoba, put the ball in his own net to give Feyenoord the victory.
