Sadlier hailed by McGhee

Republic of Ireland striker Richard Sadlier has been hailed by his Millwall manager Mark McGhee for continuing to play through the pain barrier. Sadlier has already been ruled out of this summer's World Cup but he has delayed a hip operation to help Millwall in their battle for a place in the play-offs.

The striker has scored 17 goals this season and McGhee believes it is this type of commitment that will reap its rewards. "Sadlier had an injection two weeks ago which did help a bit, but he is still feeling pain from the hip joint and I thought he would be out for the rest of the season.

"He will carry on until the pain becomes unbearable. He will take it as long as he can because he wants to contribute," said McGhee.
