FIFA doctor claims EPO is being used

The chairman of FIFA's medical commission believes some leading European players are using the stamina boosting drug EPO to help performance. And Dr Michel D'Hooghe claims players in the FA Premiership are among those turning to illegal substances to help them play better and recover faster.

Dr D'Hooghe claimed: "EPO is now quite commonly used in other sports and I cannot imagine thereis a barrier for EPO around the football field. Some specialists in doping, people who have done some doping in cycling and endurance skiing, suddenly appear around football clubs all over Europe."
