Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says his troops are determined to win the Premiership title for their injured French midfielder Robert Pires. The Gunners have played two games less than leaders Liverpool and second-placed Manchester United, and the Arsenal coach insists there is a firm resolve to win the title for Pires, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season and the World Cup with a cruciate ligament injury.
"There is a greater resolve among the players to win for Robert," said Wenger, before adding the Easter holiday programme will have a huge say in the final destination of the title. "It is a crucial Easter period for us. It is a big challenge which the players can rise to...Sunderland are always very difficult for us and Charlton will be up for it as well."
Arsenal are just two points behind Liverpool and one behind defending champions Man Utd and if they win their games in hand will have a four-point lead at the summit of the table.
