George to join Orient on trial

Forgotten former Irish under-age striker Liam George is to join Third Division strugglers Leyton Orient on trial after falling out of favour at promotion chasing Luton Town. Orient manager Paul Brush has given George the opportunity to end his Kenilworth Road nightmare where he has been paid on a week-to-week basis since refusing to sign a new contract last summer.

If successful, Brush will offer the 1998 European Under-18 Championship winner a permanent deal. Brush stepped in to offer the 23-year-old a chance to impress at Brisbane Road this week in a bid to bolster his struggling outfit, who are just ten points clear of bottom club Halifax Town.
