Blackburn Rovers have confirmed they will offer manager Graeme Souness a new contract in the summer regardless of whether or not they retain their Premiership status. Souness's current deal expires at the end of next season but the Ewood Park club say they are determined to begin negotiations before the contract enters its final 12 months.
Blackburn are currently languishing third from bottom of the Premiership and are facing a tough battle for survival. But Souness has already guided them to a Worthington Cup success this season and the Blackburn board still feel the 48-year-old Scot is still the right person for the job.
