Premier League Chairmen have decided unanimously to ensure that the Worthington League Cup retains its UEFA Cup place for at least the next two seasons.
All Premiership Chairmen have backed the proposal but want to have a greater say in how the competition is run.
This year's final takes place on Sunday between Tottenham Hotspur and Blackburn Rovers. Kick-off is at 3pm.
