Everton have so far failed to secure the transfer of Lee Carsley from Coventry. Talks are still ongoing and will not be concluded today.
Meanwhile, Coventry have dismissed claims that Carsley has pulled out of tonight’s game with Rotherham because of the proposed move. Manager Roland Nilsson had insisted the Republic of Ireland international was still part of his plans for tonight.
But it has since emerged Carsley will not take any part in the Rotherham game, with club officials insisting he is ill and not already in Liverpool.
