Mick McCarthy is to stay on as Ireland's manager until the European Championships in 2004, it was reported today in the Sunday Tribune. It is reported that there was a breakthrough in talks over his new contract this weekend with McCarthy agreeing to a new two-year deal thought to be close to 350,000 pounds sterling a year.
