Wolverhampton Wanderers closed the gap on English first division leaders Manchester City on Saturday as they came from behind to beat Rotherham United 2-1 at Molineux. Alan Lee gave struggling Rotherham a shock lead two minutes before halftime, before Dean Sturridge and George Ndah rescued Wolves with second half strikes.
Wolves are three points behind City, who meet Wimbledon at Selhurst Park on Sunday. Millwall moved into third place but had to settle for a 2-2 draw at home to relegation-threatened Walsall.
Birmingham City's match against Crewe Alexandra at St Andrews was abandoned after 58 minutes with the score at 0-0 because of a waterlogged pitch. Referee Alan Butler halted play amid heavy rain for 15 minutes before inspecting the pitch and calling the match off.
Croatian Robert Prosinecki scored a hat-trick for Portsmouth but the home side were left disappointed as Mike Sheron grabbed a last minute equaliser for Barnsley in a thrilling 4-4 draw at Fratton Park.
Crystal Palace jumped one place to fifth in the table as they swept aside Sheffield Wednesday 3-1 at Hillsborough, while Italian Benito Carbone scored Bradford City's winner as they beat Grimsby Town 1-0. Bottom club Stockport Town's miserable run continued as they lost 3-1 at home to Nottingham Forest.
