United stars in cash windfall - report

Manchester United players could earn up to £2million this season if they win the Champions League, according to a report today. Figures in The Mirror suggest the Old Trafford club's stars could pick up £100,000 each if they win Europe's biggest prize.

On top of that they would get £225,000 if they win all their matches on the way to the final. The newspaper claims this windfall, together with other bonuses, could see first-team players averaging around £2million.

Bonuses for winning a Premiership match are £300 a man, says the report. The figures will not come as a surprise with many of the game's stars earning in excess of £2million a year on the back of huge television revenues.

United skipper Roy Keane is the club's top earner with an income of around £2.7million.
