Everton have signed Swedish international Tobias Linderoth for stg£2.5m from Norweigan club Stabaek.
The 23-year-old, who played for Sweden against England in last year's friendly at Old Trafford, has played 11 times for his country and scored one goal. Everton moved for the defensive midfielder just one day after selling Portugal international defender Abel Xavier to Liverpool.
"He is definitely a player for the future but he is definitely good enough to play for Everton at the moment. He has played the last eight games for Sweden and has taken Stefan Schwarz's place in the team. I think he will be very good in England. We were pleased to have him here for many years. But he is so good that the player must go, and it's important for Stabaek to get the money," explained Scolelvrn.
