Ronaldo plays down Beckham swap

Ronaldo has shot down speculation he will be used as the bait to tempt David Beckham to Inter Milan by pledging his future to the Italians. Inter are rumoured to be leading the chase by Europe's top clubs to sign the Manchester United midfielder, who has yet to sign an extension to his contract which runs out next year.

Some reports had suggested the Brazilian superstar would be part of a swap deal involving the England captain. But Ronaldo told Corriere dello Sport: "I will stay at Inter Milan forever." The 25-year-old former world footballer of the year has put two years of knee injury troubles behind him to return to action this season. And he has provided glimpses of his best form, scoring three goals in six Serie A games for the league leaders.
