Man City go three points clear

An embarrassing own goal by Watford's Heidar Helguson gifted Manchester City a 2-1 win at Vicarage Road. City's sixth win in seven matches gives them a three-point lead over Wolves at the top of the Nationwide Division One table.

Earlier today, striker Jason Roberts scored the only goal of the match to earn West Brom their first ever league success over neighbours Walsall with a 1-0 victory. Roberts settled the issue four minutes before the break at the Hawthorns.

Daniele Dichio nodded the ball down to Roberts who held off a challenge from defender Ian Roper before lashing a superb shot past goalkeeper James Walker. The goal earned Albion only their second league win in seven outings and left Walsall in the relegation zone.

Elsewhere, Millwall stretched their unbeaten run to nine matches at Carrow Road with a 0-0 draw with Norwich who played the second half with 10 men. The Canaries lost Darel Russell to a red card awarded for elbowing Marc Bircham four minutes before the interval.
