Terry's immediate international future on the line

FA officials meet later this week to decide on the immediate international future of Chelsea defender John Terry, arrested on Friday over his alleged involvement in a nightclub brawl. The highly-rated defender has been charged with affray and assault and is due to appear in court on Wednesday with Wimbledon and Republic of Ireland Under 21 defender Desmond Byrne.

If the FA hold firm on the stance they took with Leeds United pair Jonathan Woodgate and Lee Bowyer, Terry will be out of the reckoning, at least while legal proceedings are taking place.
