Ten–man Celtic can thank Henrik Larsson’s last-minute goal for their narrow 3-2 win over Livingston. Joos Valgaeren was sent off eleven minutes from time for a second bookable offence, and although both sides had chances to clinch the game, Larsson ensured victory by tapping home Alan Thompson’s cross.
New Rangers boss Alex McLeish watched his team beat former charges Hibernian 3-0 in a bad tempered clash at Easter Road. Craig Moore opened the scoring for Rangers, while two late goals from Tore Andre Flo and Shota Averladze flattered the visitors as Hibs finished with ten men following the dismissals of Ulrik Laursen and Tam McManus.
Elsewhere, Hearts sealed an impressive 2-0 win away to Dundee, St Johnstone beat Motherwell 2-1 while Kilmarnock and Dunfermline remained goalless.
