Trapattoni expresses United interest

Legendary Italian coach Giovanni Trapattoni has expressed an interest in taking over at Manchester United when Sir Alex Ferguson stands down at the end of the season. The former Juventus, AC Milan, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich boss is currently in charge of Italy's bid for glory at next summer's World Cup finals in Japan and South Korea.

Trapattoni will be 63 by the time any move to Old Trafford could take place but he does not see that as a problem. Speaking to the Daily Mail, he said: "Even at my age, I do not think it is too late for me. United are a great club and I'd love to work with them and fight in the Premier League."
