Alex Ferguson has claimed that David Beckham accepts being left out of Manchester United's last three matches. It had been reported that Beckham was angry at being dropped and would demand talks with Ferguson if he misses his fourth game in a row against Middlesbrough tomorrow.
Ferguson insists that the England captain is happy to be able to rest and allow his back injury to heal. "David is great about what we are doing. He knows why we are doing this and I think he is glad about it to be honest with you. He knows himself that he had not been playing his best and he wants it sorted out as well. David's back is not exactly improving in the sense that back troubles tend to take a wee while.
"Rest is the best thing for him. It's not long-term, but I think we're doing the right thing by giving him the breather. He can rest the back and also have a rest himself generally. I think he's needed that," Ferguson told the Manchester Evening News.
