Juventus midfielder Edgar Davids has threatened to leave the Turin club after being omitted from the starting line-up in last night’s 3-1 Champions League defeat by Arsenal. The Holland international came on as a substitute after 20 minutes but today spoke of his unwillingness to accept a place on the bench.
“I am fed up with this situation. I’m not happy sitting on the bench and if there is not space for me I will leave. There are other clubs interested in me,” Davids told the Gazetta Dello Sport. “I went on the field at a difficult time for us. I am a team player and I feel in good form. I must play more,” he added.
Davids returned to action this season after he was banned towards the end of the last campaign when he tested positive for Nandrolone.
