Celtic boosted by Gonzalez absence

Celtic have been boosted by the news that Valencia will be without influential winger Kily Gonzalez for their UEFA Cup third round second leg tie tomorrow night at Parkhead.

The Argentinean, dropped for his side’s 1-0 first leg victory after a bust-up with coach Rafael Benitez, failed to recover from an injury sustained in training. This is the latest in a series of injury problems for the Spanish outfit, who are already without midfield duo David Albelda and Miguel Angel Angulo for the Glasgow trip.

Celtic will be hoping their impressive home form in Europe this season will be enough to overcome the one-goal deficit. Martin O’Neill’s men have already beaten Juventus, Porto and Rosenborg at Parkhead this season and will no doubt be hoping to add the Champions League runners-up for the past two years to this list.

Meanwhile, TG4 will be showing exclusive live coverage of tomorrow night’s clash. Coverage will start at 7.20pm.
