Rangers' hopes of catching Celtic have taken another blow following tonight's goalless draw away to Dundee. Celtic are now twelve points clear of Rangers, following their 3-0 dismissal of Hibernian earlier today, but Dick Advocaat refused to concede the title. "We still have enough games to go," said the Rangers boss. Even if Rangers take the full six points from the remaining two Old Firm games, they will still have to rely on other teams beating Celtic to have any chance of catching their Glasgow rivals.
Rangers dominated large spells of tonight's game without taking any of the chances that they created, although Fabian Caballero hit the woodwork for Dundee in the first half. Record Ibrox signing Tore Andre Flo missed an open goal from four yards out, but Advocaat insisted that the entire team should shoulder the blame. "That is just football and everybody expects that. We still have other players who can score and we cannot rely on Tore every game," he said.
Things were much more comfortable for Old Firm rivals Celtic, who beat Hibernian 3-0 at Parkhead this afternoon, thanks partly to a John Hartson double strike. Elsewhere in the Scottish Premier League, third-placed Livingston moved onto 32 points - 14 less than Celtic - with a 3-1 home victory over Motherwell. Aberdeen beat bottom club St Johnstone 1-0, while Hearts salvaged a 1-1 draw at home to Dunfermline Athletic with a late goal and Kilmarnock saw off visiting Dundee United 2-0.
