Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson insists he will not risk playing Roy Keane in tomorrow's Premiership clash with Leicester City at Old Trafford but that he could return for Tuesday's Champions League action. The Republic of Ireland captain missed yesterday's second leg of the World Cup play-off in Tehran after he returned to Manchester earlier in the week for further treatment on his troublesome knee injury. Keane has not started a game for United since October 17 but did play for Ireland in last week's first-leg tie against Iran at Lansdowne Road, where he aggravated the problem.
Keane had treatment on his knee yesterday and was expected to train today but Ferguson has said he has no intention of playing him tomorrow, preferring instead to keep him fit for Tuesday's crucial Champions League game against Bayern Munich in Germany.
Meanwhile, United will also be missing Juan Sebastian Veron as the midfielder only returned today from World Cup duty with Argentina. United centre-back Laurent Blanc is fit again after recovering from flu while Ryan Giggs has also recovered from his latest hamstring problem.
