Mick McCarthy says he will delay naming his team until just before kick-off for tomorrow's World Cup play-off second leg against Iran. Niall Quinn and Steve Staunton did not train today once again as a precaution against injuries and McCarthy says he will give his walking wounded a chance to recover.
Gary Breen also missed the session because of an ankle problem but the Coventry City defender is likely to be passed fit for tomorrow's game. The squad are training at the Azadi Stadium for the first time tonight.
Meanwhile, the authorities in Tehran have finally backed down and agreed to allow Irish women supporters into the stadium for tomorrow's World Cup play-off against Iran. A security official confirmed that a limited number of Irish women who have travelled to Iran can attend the match. The ban on Iranian women attending is still in place.
